
ABOUT
Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India has launched the national program called Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), with the vision to involve professional and higher educational institution in the development process of rural areas in the country to achieve sustainable development and better quality of life. Indian Institute of Technology, Hauz Khas, New Delhi has been designated to be the National Coordinating Institute by the Ministry.
Our Institution SSM Institute of Engineering and Technology & C-45320 has agreed to participate in UBA as a participating Institute (PI). Dr.D.SENTHIL KUMARAN, Principal, has been duly authorized in this regard from our side to carry on the activities of UBA in our organization as Project Coordinator.
Under the UBA program every Participating Institute is to adopt a cluster of five villages in consultation with the Districts Collector. The following villages are adopted by SSMIET.
OBJECTIVES
1.Building institutional capacity in Institutes of higher education in research and training relevant to the needs of rural India.
2.Provide Rural India with professional resource support from Institutes of Higher Education especially those which have acquired academic excellence in the field of Engineering and Technology.

The following strategic plans have been suggested:
- The baseline survey completed and followed by household survey and village level survey.
- Awareness (covid-19) /campaign on-line based programme for adopted villages.
- The technical proposal for respective department is being proposed
- Waste water plant / RO water plant
- Solar power applications
- Two wheeler workshop
- Electronic gadgets repair
- Power cycle
- Mobile apps for Rural development & e-governance centre
The above proposals planned to have direct impact on the beneficiaries in the adopted villages.
- Monthly Activity Report to submit for reporting monthly progress to UBA.
