Robotics club

Robotics Club

Robotics Club (RC) is a community of students guided by faculty members, experts, who find pleasure in Robotics. It is a platform for like-minded people to come together, share knowledge and strive to create futuristic automated machines. The objective of Robotics club is to build international quality Robots that will prove to be useful in a variety of environments, especially in the industries. SSM Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul is Zone’s first college to have a Robotics Club and Laboratory in association with e-Yantra, IIT Bombay. It was established in the year 2015 to carry out inter-disciplinary research activity for various applications in the areas of Mechanical, CSE and ECE. A group of faculty and students work here to enhance the level of research in robotics and related areas. Major areas of focus in research are Underwater Robotics, Mobile Robotics, Manipulator Kinematics and Medical Robotics. This is an e-yantra, IITB, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt of India sponsored laboratory for Faculty/Students drawn from Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering departments. This lab provides expertise on recent advancements in the field of Automation and Industrial Robotics. Industrial robotics projects are undertaken to update skills in recent technological developments and to face the real time issues. Further, the students are encouraged to do projects in their course of study using the robotic kits and accessories available in the laboratories to enhance their practical knowledge.
